Candle demon

Just a little something that was on my mind recently.
A demon laughing at a candle for it burns so fast and has such a short lifespan. Yet he doesn't realize he is himself made of the exact same wax.

Another way to look at it would be that he rejoices in having a light source while he himself is his own light source. The candle burns his tongue but he is very careful not to drop it for the world would become dark and full of terror. So he clings on the candle he doesn't need, blind to his own light.
Fascination can make someone overlook his own potential.
